Milford Man Pleads Guilty To Unlawful Reentry After Deportation

MILFORD, MA — An Ecuadorian national living in Milford has pleaded guilty to returning to the U.S. after he was deported, federal prosecutors said.

Luis Rolando Clavijo Tacuri, 31, pleaded guilty last Tuesday in Worcester federal court to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported person. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.

Immigration officials first encountered Tacuri in October 2015 while he was incarcerated on operating under the influence charges in Holliston, prosecutors said. It was his third OUI offense at the time, according to the USAO.

Tacuri was placed in removal proceedings and deported to Ecuador in December 2016. Prosecutors said he later returned to the U.S. without permission.

He was arrested in Milford in May 2024, and was accused of operating under the influence, according to the USAO. Federal prosecutors said he has been arrested four times on OUI allegations in Massachusetts.

The unlawful reentry charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison, one year of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. He is also subject to deportation after completing any sentence imposed.
