Learn the Art of Sashiko Mending

Discover Sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique used for generations to strengthen worn fabric, repair textiles, and extend the life of cherished items. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basics of Sashiko while creating your own stitched sampler and exploring the rich cultural history behind this beautiful mending tradition.
Participants are welcome to bring a clothing item they'd like to repair or personalize during the workshop.
🧵 No experience necessary. All skill levels are welcome, and all mending supplies will be provided.

About the Instructor
Mariko Sugimori of Mona & Zoe Mending explores visible repair through textile mending and kintsugi-inspired practices. Drawing on years of repairing items for friends, family, and neighbors, she is passionate about making mending an accessible, creative, and meaningful practice for individuals and communities alike.
