Mother's Day is less than a week away, but it's not too late to make plans for dining out.
NEWTON, MA — Treating moms to brunch or dinner is one of the top ways to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10, but to do that, you’ll need to make reservations now at Somerville restaurants.
Some restaurants to consider in Newton include the following:

- Seasons 52, 220 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill
- The Blue Bird Bar, 1293 Washington St.
- Blue Salt, 1255 Washington St.
- Fuji at Newton, 239 Walnut St.
The National Retail Federation said its annual Mother’s Day survey shows 63 percent of respondents plan a special outing like dinner or brunch for Mother’s Day. Behind flowers and greeting cards, a meal out is the third-most popular way to celebrate the holiday.

Americans are projected to spend approximately $6.4 billion on special outings and meals this year, a figure surpassed only by the $7.5 billion expected expenditure on jewelry, according to the survey.
