NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A massive lottery prize was purchased in the Bay State this week.
One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player bought a $4 million lottery ticket at Honey Farms at 369 W Main St. in Northborough on Friday. The prize was won from the Lottery's "$4,000,000 EXTREME Cash" game.
To win, a player must match any of their numbers to any of the winning numbers. The odds of winning the largest $4 million prize are one in more than 5 million.

It marks the first time a Massachusetts lottery player has won a prize that large from the game. Now, there is just one $4 million prize left available.
The Massachusetts State Lottery has not yet disclosed the identity of the winner. Retailers that sell winning tickets typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.

Last month, a $1 million lottery ticket from the same scratch-off game was also sold in Worcester County. It was purchased at Cumberland Farms in East Templeton.
