Blizzard 2026: Peabody Snow Emergency Parking Ban Declared

PEABODY, MA — A snow emergency parking ban was set to go into effect on Sunday afternoon ahead of blizzard conditions expected overnight into Monday.

Up to 20 inches of snow was forecast for the North Shore, along with 60 mph wind gusts and possible flooding.

The Peabody parking was to begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday and last until further notice.

"Snowfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour," the National Weather Service wrote. "Whiteout conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening."

AccuWeather meteorologists predict the storm will undergo rapid strengthening offshore, producing blizzard conditions in some states, including Massachusetts.
