Peabody Traffic Detours Set On Central Street During 2-Day Road Work

PEABODY, MA — Peabody drivers are being advised of a traffic update for Monday and Tuesday tied to the ongoing moving installation operation of the new water system.

MDR Construction will perform roadwork in the areas of Central, Warren, and Tremont over two days during daytime construction hours.

Access for emergency vehicles and local residents will be maintained at all times.

For inbound traffic traveling from Wilson Square toward Peabody Center, motorists will be directed to take a left onto Tremont, a right onto Wallis, a right onto Elm, and then return to Central.

Police details will assist with alternating traffic as needed.

For outbound traffic traveling from Peabody Center toward Wilson Square, drivers will be routed to take a left onto Warren and a right onto Endicott, continuing to Wilson Square. Detour signage will be placed at Warren Street and Buxton Road with the message, "Road Closed Local Traffic Only," to direct motorists toward Endicott Street.

Residents and drivers are being reminded to follow all posted signs and police instructions, expect delays during peak travel times, and use caution when driving near workers and equipment.
