Welch School PTO President Earns 'Kindness Award'
Nina Abreu was honored for her dedication to the Welch School community through event organization and fundraising.

The award recognizes Abreu's dedication to the Welch School community and her ongoing support of local families.
Abreu was nominated by residents for her extensive work in organizing events, leading fundraisers, and creating inclusive experiences for students and families.

Her efforts have supported numerous initiatives, including VIP dances, Boo Bash, field trips, turkey baskets, calendars, and Breakfast with Santa.

The Ward 2 Kindness Award is a monthly recognition program that honors individuals whose everyday actions strengthen the community.
"Nina's kindness is rooted in action," Lattof said.
She said that through Abreu's dedication and care for others, she ensures families feel supported and celebrated. Lattof also stated that Abreu's creativity, compassion, and generosity truly embody the spirit of Ward 2.
Recipients for the Ward 2 Kindness Award are selected by a group of Ward 2 residents from nominations submitted by the public. January marked the first time this award was presented.
Nominations for the Ward 2 Kindness Award can be submitted by the 20th of each month. Submissions should be emailed to WendyLattof@gmail.com.
The award is open to children, teens, and adults, recognizing any individual whose acts of kindness help enhance and strengthen the Ward 2 community in Peabody.
