Boutique Hotel Opens At Historic South Shore Property

PLYMOUTH, MA — A historic South Shore property will open as a boutique hotel.

The Drew Hotel, a 25-room, year-round property at 3 Chilton St. in Plymouth, is expected to open on Thursday. The hotel, managed by hospitality company Lark, will add 17 more guest rooms, private event space, and an outdoor area in early 2027.

The three-story building was constructed in the 1800s as a sea captain’s home and later operated as the Chilton House Rest Home, hotel developers said.

In 2024, Rick Vayo, a Plymouth developer, purchased the building, an adjacent Chilton Street property and three properties on Howland Street. Lark, along with the design firm Elder & Ash, then renovated the historic properties.

At The Drew, the rooms feature two design styles with references to the town's maritime history. Most rooms include private balconies, while a third-floor suite offers a deck with water views, a living room, and a kitchenette.

The hotel will also offer high-speed Wi-Fi, electric vehicle charging stations, a courtyard with a fire pit and a lounge with a wood-burning fireplace. With an overnight stay, guests can also get breakfast from the Plymouth General Store.

Prices begin at $349 per night and vary by room type and stay dates. Meanwhile, accessible rooms are also available.
