North Shore 8th Grade Teacher From NH Charged With Raping Student: Essex DA

The Essex County DA's Office said Tymond Tran, of Hudson, NH, was a middle school teacher in Lynn when accused of the assault.

SALEM, MA — A former North Shore teacher from Hudson, NH was in Essex County Superior Court on Wednesday facing charges of rape of a child and distributing obscene images of a child in Essex County Superior Court on Wednesday.

The Essex DA's Office said Tymond Tran, 38, was a middle school teacher in 2022-23 when he was accused of the crimes against a then-14-year-old student at the Thurgood Marshall Middle School.

He also previously taught in Lowell.

Tran on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to rape of a child aggravated by an age difference of 10 years or more, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, exhibiting a child in a nude or lascivious pose, and distributing obscene matter to a minor.

Tran is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial conference on Aug. 26.

Judge Jon Fraser ruled that Tran must wear a GPS and be on house arrest 24-7, except for emergency medical, court, and attorney visits, and have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.

He also must submit to random device searches, reside at an Attleboro address, stay away from and have no contact with any victim or witness, and not possess any child sexual abuse material.
