Salem Man Identified As Body Recovered From Central Wharf Waters

The 64-year-old's body was recovered at about 9:40 a.m. on July 28.

SALEM, MA — A 64-year-old Salem man has been identified as the person whose body was recovered from the waters at Central Wharf in the city last week.

The Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Salem Chief of Police Lucas J. Miller said on Wednesday that the body of Peter Bonacci was recovered from the water near Derby Street at about 9:40 a.m. on July 28.

No foul play is suspected.

The death was investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker's office, the Salem Police Department, the Salem Harbormaster, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
