Rep. Hannah Kane Secures Republican Nomination In 11th Worcester District

SHREWSBURY, MA — State Rep. Hannah Kane secured the Republican nomination for another term Tuesday in the 11th Worcester District.

Kane was the only Republican listed in the race, and the Secretary of the Commonwealth listed no Democratic nominee. She secured the GOP nomination after the polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to Associated Press results reported by the Boston Globe.

The district includes Shrewsbury and Westborough Precinct 4.

Kane was sworn in for her sixth term in January 2025, according to her official legislative biography. She is the ranking minority member on the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing and also serves on committees covering public health, state administration and ethics.

Kane’s legislative work has emphasized health policy, food security and municipal aid. Her office’s 2026 news archive highlights measures involving utility costs, road and bridge funding, workplace violence protections for health care employees, artificial intelligence in campaigns and food assistance.

Before joining the House in 2015, Kane worked in state economic development and the private sector. She also served on the Shrewsbury Finance Committee and has held roles with the Shrewsbury Public Schools Foundation and local hunger-relief organizations.

Election-night totals are unofficial and remain subject to local certification, according to the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
