SHREWSBURY, MA — A brand new bank branch has opened in Shrewsbury this week.

Citizens opened a standalone 5,500-square-foot branch at 222-224 Boston Turnpike on Tuesday. The bank celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting, a $2,500 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, and remarks from Kristen Luna of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and Roshan Patel, Citizens’ regional market executive for New England South.

Citizens says the new branch, which took over the former home of a ReadyMed and a Reliant Medical Group office, offers a larger, more prominent space for advisory, wealth and small business banking, along with an event space for future financial literacy programs.
