Shrewsbury Announces State Primary Voting Details For September

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury has announced the details for the 2026 state primary election in early September, with early voting and vote-by-mail options beginning before Election Day.

Shrewsbury voters will be able to cast ballots for the state primary on Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall, 100 Maple Ave. You can find assigned precinct polling locations here.

In-person early voting will also be held at Town Hall. The schedule is:

• Aug. 22, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Aug. 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Aug. 24, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Aug. 25, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Aug. 26, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Aug. 27, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Aug. 28, 8 a.m. to noon

The deadline to register to vote in Shrewsbury is 5 p.m. Aug. 22. Voters can find registration information here.

The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot in Shrewsbury is 5 p.m. Aug. 25. Mail ballots can be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office, placed in the ballot drop box at Town Hall or returned by mail. Ballots must be received by the Town Clerk’s Office by the close of polls on Sept. 1.

Absentee ballot applications are also due by mail by 5 p.m. Aug. 25. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot in person is noon Aug. 31.
