Shrewsbury DPW Business Manager Celebrates Retirement

SHREWSBURY, MA — Chris Meuse is retiring from the Town of Shrewsbury after leading the Department of Public Works’ Business Management Division.

Shrewsbury officials announced Meuse’s retirement while thanking her for years of service, her leadership and the respect she showed members of her team. As division manager, Meuse oversaw the staff responsible for supporting the DPW’s financial and administrative operations.

The Business Management Division serves the town’s public buildings, water and sewer, highway, engineering, cemetery, parks maintenance and fleet maintenance operations.

Meuse also introduced the “DPW Forward” initiative to improve financial management and advocated for a management analyst to assist with capital projects during a March budget hearing, according to Shrewsbury Finance Committee minutes.

“Chris’ time in Shrewsbury was marked by a deep respect for each one of her team members, which defined her exceptional leadership of the division,” the town said in its retirement announcement.

The town posted the public works business manager position on Aug. 27. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, according to the town’s job opportunities page.
