Shrewsbury Senior Center Records Nearly 20,000 Visits This Year

SHREWSBURY, MA — Participation at the Shrewsbury Senior Center has risen sharply over the past two fiscal years.

The Senior Center on Maple Avenue recorded 19,415 visits in fiscal year 2026, up from 13,726 in fiscal year 2025 and 12,021 in fiscal year 2024, the town's Council on Aging announced on Monday. The latest total represents an increase of about 42 percent in one year and more than 61 percent since fiscal year 2024.

The center tracks participation through its MySeniorCenter software. Through the program, visitors scan their membership cards when attending programs or using services, allowing the department to monitor participation and changing community needs.

The information supports grant applications, municipal budget requests, staffing needs, program planning and the development of future services for Shrewsbury’s older adults, according to the department.

Officials are reminding visitors to scan their MySeniorCenter cards during each visit to ensure the attendance data is complete.
