Free Outdoor Movie Series Returning To Somerville This Summer
Movies will be shown weekly at two different parks.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The city has announced the return of SomerMovie Fest, bringing six free outdoor movie nights to city parks throughout the summer with a lineup of family favorites, cult classics and animated films.
The annual series will take place on Thursday evenings from July 9 through Aug. 13 at Lincoln Park and Seven Hills Park. Movies begin at dusk, with showtimes varying throughout the season based on sunset. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, snacks and other picnic essentials.
The series opens Thursday, July 9, with a screening of A Minecraft Movie at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the softball field at Lincoln Park, 290 Washington St., near the Perry Street entrance.

The full SomerMovie Fest schedule includes:
- Thursday, July 9: A Minecraft Movie — 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln Park Softball Field
- Thursday, July 16: School of Rock — 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln Park Softball Field
- Thursday, July 23: Mean Girls — 8:15 p.m. at Lincoln Park Softball Field
- Thursday, July 30: Wayne's World — 8:15 p.m. at Seven Hills Park
- Thursday, Aug. 6: The Wiz — 8 p.m. at Seven Hills Park
- Thursday, Aug. 13: Zootopia 2 — 7:45 p.m. at Seven Hills Park
The first three screenings will be held at Lincoln Park before the series moves to Seven Hills Park for the final three weeks. All movies are free to attend.
