Tandem has also centered its business model around upfront pricing and technology intended to reduce administrative work for veterinarians. The company publicly lists prices for many of its services and has developed its own AI-powered software to automate administrative tasks and allow veterinarians to spend more time providing care.
The company says it has already earned more than 10 percent of the pet-owner market in Cambridge and Somerville. Tandem also offers virtual consultations to established patients and allows customers to communicate with its care team through its app.
