Somerville Opens Applications For Affordable Union Square Apartments

SOMERVILLE, MA — Applications are now open for four rent-restricted apartments at a residential development in the Union Square neighborhood.

The city is accepting applications for four income-restricted studio apartments at Prospect Union Square, a 450-unit apartment community at 20 to 50 Prospect St. The units are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the city's Inclusionary Housing Program after previously being offered through the city's Consolidated Rental Waitlist. Property managers are offering the apartments at a reduced rent of $2,238 per month with one month free.

The available apartments are open to households earning between 81 percent and 110 percent of the Area Median Income, as well as households using mobile vouchers earning between zero percent and 110 percent of the Area Median Income. Prospect Union Square includes 90 income-restricted apartments, representing 20 percent of the development. The affordable units serve households at multiple income levels, including 50 percent, 80 percent and 110 percent of the Area Median Income.

The studio apartments feature modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances, dishwashers, in-unit laundry, and air conditioning. The development is located next to the MBTA's Union Square Green Line station and offers amenities including a fitness center with a yoga studio and private training rooms, a business lounge with private workrooms, an outdoor pool and terrace, a game room, an indoor dog run, a pet washing station, outdoor grilling and dining areas, fire pits, garage parking, and bike storage.
