4 Charged In Stoneham Stabbing After 10-Month Investigation

STONEHAM, MA — Four people have been charged in connection with a stabbing that injured two teenagers last fall following what police said was a planned robbery during an alleged drug transaction, the Stoneham Police Department announced Monday.

Two 18-year-old Stoneham men and two Stoneham juveniles have been charged following a 10-month investigation into the incident. Ramon Miranda and Victor Lopes were arraigned in Woburn District Court. A 17-year-old juvenile and a second juvenile were arraigned in Lowell Juvenile Court.

Officers were dispatched to Spring Street in Wakefield on Oct. 12, 2025, after receiving reports that two people, later identified as Miranda and Lopes, had been stabbed. Investigators determined the incident began in Stoneham. Through a months-long investigation conducted with assistance from the Wakefield Police Department and Massachusetts State Police, detectives determined Miranda and Lopes had arranged to meet with a 17-year-old juvenile for an alleged drug transaction. During the meeting, an altercation broke out after Miranda allegedly displayed what appeared to be a firearm, which police later determined was an airsoft pistol. The juvenile allegedly pulled out a knife, stabbing both Miranda and Lopes. Police said all three fled the scene and attempted to dispose of their weapons, which were later recovered. Investigators also determined a second juvenile had allegedly arranged the meeting as part of a planned robbery. Police said the incident was isolated and that everyone involved knew each other before the confrontation.

Miranda was charged with armed and masked robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. Lopes was charged with armed and masked robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and destroying or concealing evidence. The 17-year-old juvenile faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and destroying or concealing evidence. The second juvenile was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

"I want to commend Detective Michael Colotti for his steadfast work in solving this case," Stoneham Police Chief James O'Connor said in a statement. "Thanks to his efforts, and the assistance of the Wakefield Police Department and Massachusetts State Police, multiple people have been charged. This case highlights the importance of collaboration between agencies."
