1 Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting In Stoughton: Reports

A person was killed during an encounter with police in Stoughton early Saturday. State police are investigating the shooting.

STOUGHTON, MA — One person was fatally shot by police early Saturday in Stoughton, according to local reports.

The shooting occurred on Monk Street, off Route 138, according to WCVB and NBC10 Boston reports citing the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

Police radio traffic reviewed by WCVB indicated that the encounter involved a person who may have been armed. A vehicle was also mentioned in the radio transmissions, although its involvement was unclear, reports said.

The district attorney's office confirmed that the person was shot by police but did not release their identity or identify the officers involved.
