Sudbury Earns National Budget Presentation Award
Sudbury's latest budget document has earned national recognition for its presentation of town spending and financial plans.
SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury’s latest budget document has earned national recognition for its presentation of town spending and financial plans.
Sudbury received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award in July for its fiscal 2027 budget, the town's Finance Department announced on Wednesday. The award recognizes budgets that meet national guidelines as policy documents, financial plans, operations guides and communication tools.
Sudbury also received a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation. The certificate accompanies the award and, according to the town, is given to the person or department primarily responsible for the recognized budget.

GFOA established the awards program in 1984 to encourage state and local governments to produce high-quality budget documents. About 1,900 governments receive the distinction each year, according to the organization’s award program.
The town also received the award for its fiscal 2026 budget.

Sudbury’s fiscal 2027 budget covers the year that began July 1 and ends June 30, 2027.
