Swampscott Hires New Town Clerk From Beverly City Clerk's Office

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The town of Swampscott has filled its open town clerk position with a person quite familiar with North Shore elections.

Kathleen Dupont moved to Swampscott after previously serving as the assistant town clerk in Beverly.

The Swampscott Select Board approved her appointment at its last meeting and she was officially sworn in on Tuesday.

"It's bittersweet," Beverly City Clerk Lisa Kent posted on social media. "We congratulate and celebrate our assistant city clerk, Katie, on her last day in Beverly. ... We thank Katie for all her hard work in the clerk's office.

"We know she will make us proud."
