Swampscott To Host Free Saltwater Fishing Clinic For Families At Whales Beach

The Saltwater Angler Education Program will hold a free beginner clinic Aug. 13 at Whales Beach with registration required.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott families and beginner anglers will have a chance to learn the basics of saltwater fishing during a free clinic planned for Aug. 13.

The event is being offered through the Saltwater Angler Education Program and is aimed at people looking for a safe, hands-on introduction to fishing on the water.

The clinic will run from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will meet at the Swampscott Yacht Club and then walk to nearby Whales Beach. The minimum age for the clinic is 7 and older.

The free clinic is "designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of saltwater fishing in a safe, hands-on environment."
