Swampscott To Host Public Declaration Of Independence Reading

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents, families and visitors are invited to gather Wednesday for a community reading of the Declaration of Independence on the Town Lawn at the Elihu Thomson Administrative Building.

The event is organized by the Town of Swampscott, Representative Jenny Armini and the Swampscott Historical Commission as part of the nationwide celebration of America's 250th Anniversary.

Attendees should arrive at 5:30 p.m., and the reading will begin just before 6 p.m.

The program is part of the MA250 "Sharing the Spirit of America" initiative.

The event will also include a presentation by Armini to the Swampscott Historical Commission of a replica of the historic E. Russell of Salem printing of the Declaration of Independence.

Immediately following the program, the Swampscott by the Sea Concert Series will feature Pick 6.
