FREE Admission - Food - Performances - Children's Activities
Come and celebrate with the Town of Wakefield Human Rights Commission and over 20 food vendors, artists, and performers on May 17th from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Galvin Middle School, 525 Main Street, Wakefield, MA 01880.
This event is open to all.
Performance Highlights: Lion Dance, Chinese Musical Performance (Pipa, Guzheng, Jinghu, Dizi, Percussion), Dances from the Artisan Dance Academy, Nabil Ata's Oud Performance, Diabolo Yo-yo, Martial Arts Demo and an Asian Fashion Show featuring traditional outfits from China, Vietnam and Korea.
Children's Activities (open to all ages): Featuring authors Windy Pham (Little Ant Farm), Tracy Guan (Tangerine & Jade Press), Vincent Yee (Clara Wu), and the Lucius Beebe Library. Interactive reading sessions, face painting, and hands-on arts and crafts activities:
- Make your own flower bouquet
- Chopstick challenge
- Lantern making
- Fan making
- 12 zodiac animal headbands
- Calligraphy
Food Vendors: Tandoor and Curry Food Truck, Hometown Poke Food Truck, Bao's Kitchen, Sakura Organic, Boba Tea & Snow Ice House Wakefield, Gong Cha and Tanghulu from Beijing Taste.
