Kirmes Family Fund Established at The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield
Fund honors local family

(Wakefield, MA) – The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. (TSF) is honored to announce the recent establishment of the Kirmes Family Fund. Beginning in June 2026, a scholarship will be awarded from this fund to a local student pursuing education beyond high school.
The Kirmes family has long been a part of the Wakefield community, with deep and enduring ties to the town. Parents Victor Kirmes (1914–2003) and Madeline (LoFaro) Kirmes (1920–2011) raised their family in Wakefield, where all five of their children graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School: Carolyn (Kirmes) Taylor, Class of 1965; Dr. William Kirmes, Class of 1967; Victor Kirmes, Jr., Class of 1969; Julie (Kirmes) Laverty, Class of 1974; and Joseph Kirmes, Class of 1978. The Kirmes children treasure fond memories of growing up in Wakefield.
