WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Police Department has issued a warning to residents following a rash of recent car break-ins.

Police posted the following on Facebook:

Motor vehicle break-ins have been on the rise lately, and the biggest deterrent is simple: lock your vehicle doors.
