Returning from Spain, Laura presents a contemporary flamenco performance interwoven with readings from her illustrated memoir Piel de Tulipan / Tulip Skin. Through words and movement, she creates an intimate, shared experience that explores resilience, transformation, migration, motherhood, identity, and the healing power of art. Gateway Camera Club is hosting Paul Toussaint’s presentation of “Mobile Photography”&nbsp;Tuesday, April 28 th at 7:00pm. Join us at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 3 Maple Street&nbsp;in Framingham and experience Paul’s paradigm-altering approach to photography. Paul will discuss the use of photo editing apps, such as Snapseed, IColorama, and&nbsp;others, for hand-held devices. He’ll show how these apps can help you edit, enhance&nbsp;and basically do what it takes to turn an ordinary photo into an exciting piece of art. Paul has been hailed a 'pioneer' in the iPhonic art movement, mastering the use of apps&nbsp;to create fine art images presented on wood, canvas, textured paper, glass, and metal. His works have been shown in NYC Times Square and displayed in galleries across the&nbsp;US and Europe. Paul is co-founder of The Empty Spaces Project, a non-Profit Gallery, in Putnam,&nbsp;Connecticut. Maypole dancing is a centuries-old tradition celebrated on May Day. It is believed to have started in Roman Britain around 2000 years ago, when soldiers celebrated the arrival of spring by dancing around decorated trees, thanking their goddess Flora. These days, dancers weave ribbons around a pole rather than a tree, celebrating the arrival of spring.
