Vote-By-Mail Applications Heading To Wayland Voters
Vote-by-mail application postcards will soon arrive in Wayland voters' mailboxes ahead of the state election.
WAYLAND, MA — Vote-by-mail application postcards will soon arrive in Wayland voters' mailboxes ahead of the Nov. 3 state election.
The Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office will send the applications to registered voters who have not already requested mail-in ballots, Town Clerk Trudy Reid announced Friday. Residents who want to vote by mail must complete and sign the postcard before returning it to the Wayland Town Clerk’s Office.
Voters should allow one to two weeks for processing and delivery after the clerk’s office receives an application. Officials are encouraging residents to return their applications as soon as possible.
The deadline for the Town Clerk’s Office to receive a vote-by-mail application is 5 p.m. Oct. 27. Postmarks do not count, according to the town’s election information page.
Applications may also be submitted online, by email or by fax. Email and fax submissions must include a handwritten signature, although the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office accepts scanned applications and photographs of signed applications.
No action is required from voters who do not want a mail-in ballot.
Voting In Wayland
Wayland will offer in-person early voting at the Town Clerk’s Office in the Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, from Oct. 17 through Oct. 30. The complete schedule, including two Saturdays, is available on the town’s election webpage.
The deadline to register to vote, change party affiliation or update an address is Oct. 24. Election Day polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the state’s 2026 election schedule.
Voters who request mail-in ballots can use the state’s ballot-tracking system to see when their ballots were mailed, returned and accepted.
