The town received state funding to plan wastewater improvements to support new housing and economic development.
WAYLAND, MA — Wayland has received state funding to plan wastewater improvements to support new housing and economic development.
The $495,000 MassWorks Infrastructure Program grant will fund the design and engineering work needed to address wastewater infrastructure constraints in Wayland’s MBTA Communities district and Town Center, Gov. Maura Healey announced Thursday. The proposed improvements would support approximately 106 new homes, including affordable housing, as well as commercial development.
The grant, listed as the “MBTA District Capacity” project, was awarded to the Town of Wayland through the FY 2027 Community One Stop for Growth program.
