Wayland To Host Living History Program About Rachel Revere
The program follows Rachel Revere, a witness to the American Revolution, and the wife and close confidant of Paul Revere.
WAYLAND, MA — A living history program about Rachel Revere will return to Wayland in August.
Wayland Rev250 and the Wayland Historical Commission will host History At Play’s “Rendezvous With Rachel Revere” at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at Vokes Theater, 97 Boston Post Road. The program features History At Play founder Judith Kalaora portraying Rachel Revere, a witness to the American Revolution, and the wife and close confidant of Paul Revere.
The event is free and open to all ages, but registration is encouraged because seating is limited.
The performance focuses on Rachel Revere after Paul Revere’s midnight ride on April 18, 1775, as she weighs how to get her six stepchildren and newborn baby out of Boston and away from the British Regular Army.
Audience members will help Rachel Revere consider the risks and demands of each plan during the program.
History At Play, founded in 2010, produces programs about influential and often overlooked historical figures. Kalaora is a professional educator, playwright and living historian.
