Wayland Police Officer Dies Suddenly: Chief
Officer Christopher Cohen was a Wayland native and served for more than 25 years.
WAYLAND, MA — A Wayland police officer with more than 25 years with the department died unexpectedly over the weekend, according to Wayland Interim Chief Sean Gibbons.
Officer Christopher Cohen, a Wayland Public Schools graduate, joined the department in 1996. During his time with the department, Cohen served in the patrol division, as a detective, arson investigator and crime scene technician.
"He was a loyal and dedicated member of the department who will be missed," Gibbons said in a social media post. "Please take a moment to remember Officer Christopher Cohen and keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Funeral arrangements and a memorial for Cohen are pending, according to Gibbons.
