Westborough Fire Department Is Now Hiring

The department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Fire Department is hiring.

Westborough fire is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT, according to a notice from Fire Chief Patrick Purcell shared on Wednesday. Current pay ranges from $31.79 to $36.57 per hour.

The town also offers a FY26 EMT stipend of $4,500 and a paramedic stipend of $12,500. The current contract expires June 30, 2026.

The position includes responding to medical emergencies, rescue calls, fires and hazardous materials incidents, while providing basic life support care and assisting with firefighting and rescue operations, according to the job listing. Firefighter/EMTs also work closely with the public during emergency responses and other department activities.

Applicants must have, at a minimum, Massachusetts EMT certification (paramedic preferred), a valid Massachusetts driver's license, and a high school diploma.

Completion of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Full-Time Recruit Program with Fire Fighter I/II certification is preferred, according to the notice.
