Westborough Police Launch Rotary Traffic Safety Initiative
Officers will step up traffic enforcement efforts in the town center this month.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough police are stepping up traffic enforcement efforts in the town center this month in response to growing safety concerns from residents.
The Westborough Police Department announced it will conduct focused traffic enforcement throughout May in and around the rotary in the center of town. Officers will pay special attention to morning and evening rush-hour traffic during daylight hours.
The intersection connects East Main Street, West Main Street, South Street, and two separate segments of Milk Street, creating a complex traffic pattern.

The department also shared a lighthearted video on social media highlighting what not to do while driving through the rotary.
Police said the initiative is aimed at improving safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists who use the busy rotary area daily.

According to the department, officers will focus on violations that pose the greatest safety risks, including speeding, failure to yield of stop, crosswalk violations, cell phone use and distracted driving.
“Our goal is not just enforcement — it is prevention,” the department said in a statement. “The rotary is a busy area shared by drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and local businesses.”
Police are urging motorists to slow down, stay alert and yield when required to help keep the center of Westborough safe for everyone.
This comes amid discussions about a rotary redesign. A proposed peanut-shaped roundabout would replace the existing rotary with a simpler, cleaner version of the current one, according to town officials.
Last month, Westborough TV shared a video about the proposed changes, along with a simulation of the peanut-shaped roundabout.
