Westborough Wayfinding Signs Expected To Go Up By Summer

WESTBOROUGH, MA — New wayfinding and branding signs are expected to begin appearing around Westborough as the town nears the end of a grant-funded signage project.

The $165,000 initiative is meant to improve navigation, accessibility and town branding, with installation expected to be complete this summer, according to the town’s summer 2026 quarterly newsletter.

The new signs will include parking identification signs at the Cottage Street and Town Hall parking areas, parking directional signs and vehicular wayfinding signs pointing drivers toward key destinations, according to the newsletter.

The project is being funded through the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund grant, according to the town’s Branding & Wayfinding Project page. The town said the signs are intended to help residents and visitors navigate Westborough, discover businesses and activities and build a stronger sense of community.

Westborough’s project timeline listed sign creation and installation from January through June 2026.

The Select Board approved the purchase and installation of the branding and wayfinding signs on March 10, with placement to be handled by the community development director in consultation with the Department of Public Works and police, according to meeting minutes. The proposed signs were expected to direct visitors to places such as downtown, municipal buildings, recreational fields, and parking areas, according to the minutes.
