The Castle Arts and Community Center's vision featured in a new documentary

Documentary celebrating the people, places, and stories that make Woburn special

We’re honored to be featured in a new video series celebrating the people, places, and stories that make Woburn special. When one of our Castle community members, Erik Maynard invited us to share the vision behind saving the Wyman Castle and school property, we were grateful for the opportunity.

Boston Filmmaker Erik Maynard Releases "Cityspotting: Woburn," First Episode of New Documentary Series
BOSTON, MA - Filmmaker Erik Maynard has released the debut episode of Cityspotting, a new documentary series spotlighting the towns cities and squares Bostonians live their lives in. The first episode explores Woburn, Massachusetts, a city just ten miles north of Boston.
The episode features Horn Pond, the Woburn Public Library, local arts nonprofit All Ways Art, the historic Wyman Castle, Lord Hobo Brewery, underground cocktail bar The Down Low, Woburn Center, and the Anderson/Woburn commuter rail stop, with interviews from residents throughout.
"Woburn has real history and a real community, but it's the kind of place lots of people write off as just another highway exit," said Maynard. "I wanted to make something that actually makes the case for stopping by and exploring."
Cityspotting is shot documentary-style, with Maynard both directing and hosting. Future episodes are planned across other overlooked towns and neighborhoods in and around Boston.
