MI Gas Prices Jump Again, Diesel Climbs To Over $6 Per Gallon: AAA

Gas prices are climbing again across Michigan, according to AAA.

The average cost for a regular gallon of gas in Michigan on Monday morning was $4.32, which is 20 cents more than last week and $1.04 higher than this time last year, according to AAA.

Diesel fuel is also surging across the state. The average cost per gallon on Monday was $6.15, which is just short of Michigan's record high of $6.20 that was set in May, according to AAA.

Regular gas prices also hit $4.31 in the metro Detroit area, up 22 cents from last week, according to AAA.

Drivers across Michigan are paying an average of $65 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That's an increase of roughly $14 from 2025's highest price last August, according to AAA.

"Michigan drivers are seeing a significant increase at the pump, with gas prices reaching levels we haven’t seen since early August ," AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "This sharp increase underscores the ongoing volatility in global oil markets and serves as a reminder of how quickly fuel prices can shift."

Michigan's most expensive gas price averages are in Ann Arbor ($4.35), Jackson ($4.35) and Lansing ($4.34).

The state's cheapest gas price averages are in Traverse City ($4.22), Flint ($4.27) and Metro Detroit ($4.30).
