Pilot, Passenger Seriously Hurt After Small Plane Crash In MI: Police

The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating and still trying to determine a cause for the crash, according to police.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — Two people were seriously injured after a small plane crash Wednesday evening in Kalamazoo County, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 7 p.m. Wednesday near the 5700 block of East W. Avenue in the Village of Vicksburg area, according to police.

The 55-year-old pilot and a 13-year-old passenger were taken to Beacon and Bronson hospitals with serious injuries, according to police.

The cause of the crash was immediately unknown as the Federal Aviation Administration was still investigating, according to police.

Police asked people to stay away from the area until it is deemed safe.
