Popular Retailer Closes Over 100 Stores Nationwide, Including In MI
Most of the locations are in the metro Detroit area.
A nationwide retailer known for its selection of medical uniforms is closing down all of its brick-and-mortar shops.
The Scrubs & Beyond retailer announced the closure on its website and urged customers to "shop the sale."
Acquired by Arizona-based Kindthread in 2022, the brand has more than 100 stores nationwide across 30 states, including Michigan.

The company's announcement means nine closures will take effect in the Michigan at the following locations:
- Ann Arbor, 3500 Washtenaw Avenue (Washtenaw Commons)
- Flint, 3192 Linden Road (Oak Brook Square)
- Novi, 43530 W Oaks Drive (West Oaks II Shopping Center)
- Portage, 6749 S Westnedge Avenue (Portage Crossing)
- Southgate, 16134 Eureka Road
- Troy, 1973 W Maple Road (Cambridge Crossing)
- Utica, 8873 Hall Road (Heritage Square Phase II)
- Warren, 8379 Twelve Mile Road (Tech Plaza)
- Westland, 35695 Warren Road (Westridge Plaza)
Kindthread has not offered a reason for the closures or said how many employees will be affected by the decision.

The closure comes months after Kindthread opened its first standalone site in Los Angeles that included Scrubs & Beyond merchandise.
At the time, the company described the shop as "a new model for healthcare apparel retail: a curated, expert-staffed destination carrying multiple collections under one roof, with ship-to-home convenience built into the experience from day one."
