Man Dies In Oakland County Tree Trimming Accident: MIOSHA
Officials said this was the 22nd worker to die on the job in the state this year.
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI — A man died after a tree trimming accident Thursday in an Oakland County neighborhood Thursday, according to officials.
The incident happened in a neighborhood near Lone Pine and Cranbrook roads in Bloomfield Hills, according to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Officials said the 61-year-old man was trimming the top of a large residential tree when the tip of the tree broke.

The break caused the lower section of the tree to fall, sending the man down 35 feet to the ground, officials said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said.

Officials said he was secured to the lower part of the tree.
Officials did not say if the man worked for a company or if he was self-employed.
