A Chilling Victorian Penny Dreadful for One Weekend Only
BRIGHTON, MI — The Brighton High School Dramatic Arts Program invites audiences to step back in time for a spine-tingling weekend of gothic mystery, ghost stories, and murder with their upcoming production of A Spirited Manor. Written in the theatrical style of a classic Victorian penny dreadful, this captivating murder mystery takes the stage for five performances only, November 6 through November 8, at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts.
When grieving widow Clara O’Hare moves into a new home to escape the painful memories of her late husband, she quickly discovers she is far from alone. Desperate for answers, Clara attends a séance at a remote country estate, surrounded by an eccentric cast of strangers. But as the lights dim and the séance begins, something sinister makes its presence known. Clara must team up with the mysterious medium Wesley Lowenherz to unravel the manor’s dark history and uncover what the spirits are dying to tell them—before another life is lost.
A Spirited Manor is a full-length murder mystery. Parents and patrons should note that while violence is kept off-stage, the production contains unseen depictions of murder and gothic horror themes.
