MI Family Buys Hell For Less Than $666K: Report

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI — A Michigan family has purchased a large portion of Hell - a chunk of land in Livingston County that is, according to a report.

Adam and Evelyn Eberline purchased the land for $645,000, with plans to make a few renovations, but pledged to keep everything people know and love about Hell, according to a Livingston Daily report.

"We want to keep the foundation," Evelyn told the newspaper. "We want to keep it family-friendly and just invest some love into it and make it better. It needs some love."

Hell is a small unincorporated community near Pinckney. The seven acres of land feature extremely creative businesses, such as the Creamatory ice cream parlor and a wedding chapel with the slogan, "A marriage that starts in Hell has nowhere to go but up!"

Guests can even be mayor for a day, or even just an hour. In 2022, a California cat with wide eyes and big feet was mayor for the day.

"Hell is a quirky, must-visit destination known for its devilish humor and playful attractions," the state tourism website said. "Whether you're here for laughs, photo ops, or the novelty of saying, 'You've been to Hell and back,' this offbeat town offers a memorable and entertaining experience."
