Detroit Area Under Flood Watch Amid Thunderstorms
The flood watch remains in effect through 2 p.m. Wednesday.
A flood watch is in effect for the Detroit area through early Wednesday afternoon as thunderstorms roll through the area, according to the National Weather Service.
Multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms are possible through Wednesday. Some of those storms could cause heavy downpours, leading to local flooding in some area, the weather service said.
Additionally, winds could reach up to 60 miles per hour in the afternoon when highs reach the low 60s, the weather service said.

Any chance of severe weather will likely come south of Interstate 94 in the region, the weather service said.

Sunny skies are expected Thursday with highs in the 40s before another chance of rain on Friday. Chances for snow showers then move into the area on Saturday when temperatures fall back into the 30s, the weather service said.
