Man Injured In Detroit Building Explosion: Reports

DETROIT — One person was injured in an explosion at a Detroit building on Monday, according to local reports.

Officials said the incident happened at a building on Northlawn Street near Plymouth Road where a 79-year-old man was found suffering from severe burns, WXYZ reported.

Officials said the man was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition.

Other people were inside the building, but were not injured in the fire, according to the report.

The man told officials that he was working with chemicals at the time, WDIV reported.

Firefighters quickly put out the fire and were investigating the scene.
