Severe Storms, Damaging Winds, Large Hail Possible Across Detroit Area Tuesday

Severe thunderstorms are possible across the Detroit area Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect a line of strong storms to move into the region sometime between 3 and 8 p.m. Tuesday when highs reach the low 80s.

The greatest threats will be heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour, according to NWS.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of southeastern Michigan under a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe weather Tuesday.

Another round of severe storms will be possible Wednesday evening, though forecasters expect those chances to be more isolated in areas.

Sunny skies return to the region Thursday and linger through most of the weekend with highs around 80 degrees, according to NWS.
