Thunderstorms Return Tuesday To Kick Off Stormy Week Across Metro Detroit

Thunderstorms return to the metro Detroit area Tuesday as temperatures climb back into the 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

The scattered showers and storms will linger throughout the day with a slight chance for severe storms after 4 p.m. when highs reach the 80s, according to NWS.

Any severe storm that pops up could produce heavy downpours with strong winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour, according to NWS.

The best chance for severe storms will be south and west of Interstate 94 in the area, according to NWS.

Scattered showers will hang around Wednesday morning before becoming widespread in the afternoon, according to NWS.

Forecasters expect more widespread showers throughout Thursday with highs near 80 degrees.

The rain finally leaves the area on Friday as sunny skies with near-average temperatures return to the region, according to NWS.

More rain chances move back into the region this weekend with highs in the 70s, according to NWS.
