Tornadoes, 70 MPH Winds, Large Hail Possible With Severe Storms Across Detroit Area Wednesday
Forecasters expect the storms to cross the region in the afternoon when highs reach the 90s with heat indices exceeding 100 degrees.
Severe storms are possible across the Detroit area Wednesday as temperatures climb well into the 90s, according to the National Weather Service.
The most favorable timing for the storms is between 2 p.m. and midnight when highs reach 94 degrees with the real feel exceeding 100 degrees, according to NWS.
A heat advisory has been issued for most of southeastern Michigan from noon today through 8 p.m.

Forecasters warned the afternoon storms could produce isolated tornadoes, winds up to 70 miles per hour, large hail and heavy downpours.
The region has been placed under a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather Wednesday.

Additional showers and storms are possible across the Detroit area Thursday and Friday with highs in the 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
Some of those storms could also become severe, especially along and south of Interstate 96 in the region, according to NWS.
The stormy weather will move out of the area for the holiday weekend. Highs will hover around 80 degrees through the weekend and into early next week with plenty of sunshine, according to NWS.
