Where To Find Cooling Centers In Metro Detroit During Extreme Heat Wave

The National Weather Service issued an extreme heat watch for the entire metro Detroit area, as forecasters predict dangerous conditions.

Dangerous heat and humidity will hit metro Detroit this week, according to the National Weather Service, with highs well into the 90s and peak temperatures of up to 105 degrees likely.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat watch for the area beginning Tuesday. Conditions are expected to get dangerously hot and humid starting Tuesday through late Thursday, forecasters said.

"The magnitude of anticipated heat, combined with oppressive warmth at night will lead to hazardous conditions, particularly for the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions," forecasters said.
