Several times a year we offer a speaker series in which we hear from people working The Peace within our community and explore ways that we can live out our call to love God and our neighbors, acting on our values of Compassion, Mercy, Justice, Forgiveness and Grace. 
What does it mean to be welcoming? On April 23rd, St. John welcomes Sarah Maria Acosta Ahmad, Healing and Community Justice Director from Centro Multicultural La Familia, to share how communities can support immigrant justice and inclusion.
​We begin with a light meal at 6:00 pm, and follow with a presentation and Q&amp;A. This free event is open to all and offers a valuable opportunity to engage, learn, and reflect on strengthening communities. Child care can be provided on request. Please register in advance on our website.

Farmington High Theatre students will bring Disney's The Little Mermaid to life on April 16, 17 and 18 at 7PM and we want you to join us!!
Beautiful mermaid Ariel (Olivia Campbell) should be a happy girl -- she lives in an enchanted undersea world with her father King Triton (Zak Burns) and she is known for having the most beautiful singing voice of all. But she is a passionate, headstrong teenager, and wants what she cannot have -- to live on land. When she falls in love with a handsome human prince (Drew Shenton), Ariel is more determined than ever to gain a pair of legs. But her only option is to defy her furious father, and bargain with Ursula the Sea Witch (Alyson Behling) and her helpers Flotsam (Kelsey Hill) and Jetsam (Cece Cardone), giving her voice as the price of entry onto dry land. With the help of Flounder the fish (Tamsin Palland ), Scuttle the gull (Katie Martinchick), and officious court composer Sebastian the crab (Brody Kennedy), Ariel must wordlessly gain Prince Eric's love within three days -- or lose her soul to the ambitious witch! 
Based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, and the wildly popular Disney film, this musical staging of The Little Mermaid features a funny and fanciful book by Doug Wright, with the beloved score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Glenn Slater in an expanded but completely faithful form, featuring “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and 
“Part of Your World.”
As a special part of each evening, we will have a lottery for the 12 and under group in attendance. Your ticket will automatically be in a drawing, but if you are in any character costume from The Little Mermaid, you will have a second ticket added!!
All tickets are general seating and will be available at the door each evening of performances or at FHS during lunches from 11:00 - 12:30 April 13 through 17. Our box office will be available to call after April 8 at 248.888.6274. 
Student and senior adult tickets are $12, adult tickets are $15 and children 5 and under will be $5. We take cash or checks made payable to Farmington Public Schools. And, for those over 60, please remember that you may receive a Senior Adult Card from School and Community Relations if you are a resident of Farmington/Farmington Hills which will make it possible for you to have free admittance.

Medieval Tavern Feast and Revelry! Monday April 20, 2026An Ancient 5 Course Dinner with&nbsp;Specialty Exclusive Medieval Fermented Beverages
-Come join us for some of the finest offerings from taverns during the medieval times! Travel back with us in time 1000 years to explore historically accurate menu offerings from around the world as they would have so long ago! We will also be working with Farmington Brewing to craft some amazing historically accurate brews to feature as well! Ticket price includes a 5-course plated meal with each course paired with a 4 oz. beer/beverage and an additional pint of your choice to be enjoyed that evening or on a date in the future!



Menu:

1: Frumenty with Erbolate
Wheat berry porridge served with a type of crustless herbed quiche.
2: Forager Salad
Foraged wild greens including primrose, dandelion and other available mixed greens, edible flowers, mushrooms and vegetables served with a simple vinaigrette dressing.
3: Lamb Stew OR Cabbage Pottage
Meat or Vegetarian option, in medieval times the stew choice might have been between royalty and peasant! A thick simmering lamb stew or a hearty Cabbage soup served with crusty bread.
4: Stuffed Pork Loin, Apple Muse &amp; Armored Turnips
A medieval preparation of roasted pork loin, apple muse is a side dish of apple puree, almond milk, honey &amp; saffron with thinly sliced turnips layered with cheese and baked until bubbly and browned.
5: Payne Foundewe
A medieval preparation on bread pudding - Fried bread in grease, red wine, spices, raisins, and honey, ground together and baked, served with a sweet cream sauce, anise, coriander, and sugar.
