The fall 2026 Plymouth Lecture Series third lecture will be Thursday, October 1st. All who love art and the wonderful Detroit institute of Arts will really enjoy this one! And at this special presentation light refreshments will be served.
We meet at the Plymouth Community Arts Council at 774 Sheldon Road, Plymouth on Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30 am. The setting is informal, everyone is welcome. Since this is a collaborative community effort, ideas for future speakers are encouraged. The Lecture Series is great way to meet new people and expand your horizons. Hope to see you there!

Oct. 1 – Join us for the DIA the “Behind the Seen” presentation on Georgia O’Keefe: Architecture. It explores the artist's lifelong fascination with man made structures. Many thanks to Lisa Howard for arranging it and providing light refreshments. The DIA presentations by their knowledgeable docents are always interesting!
Oct. 8 - The Northville Historical Society’s Traci Sincock presents a look at Mill Race Village, a living museum village of restored & replica Victorian-era buildings. Their mission is to preserve local heritage through educational programs, events and its archives.
I’m sure you will also enjoy viewing the Plymouth Community Arts Counsel’s October Exhibit, a solo show of original art pieces by Michigan based Timothy Orikri. His works are in permanent collections including those at the Detroit Public Library, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Henry Ford Hospital and the Detroit Marriott.
Oct. 15 – Palaces of Detroit: at one time movie theaters were grand, elaborately decorated single screen palaces designed to make every day folks feel like royalty. Join us and learn about the iconic movie palaces in Detroit with Dan Packer who worked in some and has first-hand knowledge to share.
